Grief Camps for Kids and Teens

Five years after my husband’s death, I sent my daughter to a sleep-away grief camp for kids. She went, basically against her will, but ended up having a life-changing experience which I wrote about in this blog post. She is excited to go back this summer, and I wish I had sent her sooner.

There are many bereavement camps across the US for kids and teens who have lost a parent, and I’ve listed them here. Most of these are free, funded by donors, but those that aren’t free often will waive the fee for those in need. Note that Camp Kesem has more than a hundred camps in locations around the US, which I didn’t list individually.

If you don’t see a local camp listed here, check with your local hospice center as some offer camps but don’t post details online. Contact me or add a comment below if you know of a camp that isn’t on the list. I’m updating this list as camps are scheduled so make sure to check back often or subscribe below to be notified of new ones.
