Grief Support for Parents
The below organizations offer grief support for widowed adults, but I recommend first checking your local hospice center for any support groups they might have. Many grief support programs for children have programs for parents that meet at the same time.
In Person Support Groups

Soaring Spirits International offers peer-based grief support programs, both in person and virtual, for widowed men and women worldwide. Their Camp Widow offers weekend-long and one-day events across the United States and in Australia and Canada. Their Newly Widowed Virtual Program is a weekly Zoom meeting for those who have been widowed in the last year.

GriefShare offers a Christ-centered 13-week grief support program, provided through thousands of churches across the country, but you do not need to be Christian to join. You can search their website to find a local program.

W Connection is a national nonprofit organization that offers in person and virtual support groups created and facilitated by widows through a paid membership program. Complimentary memberships are provided if you can’t afford the paid membership.

The National Widowers’ Organization is a virtual toolkit for men coping with the death of a loved one, a place where men can meet others going through the same transition online or in their area.

Widowers Support Network (WSN) is a worldwide ministry dedicated to healing hearts and saving lives of men who have lost their spouse or life partner. There is an online network, but members may also meet in person.
Online Support Groups

Modern Widows Club is a network of peer support for any widowed woman. It serves to help her transform grief into a more positive, purposeful future. It offers a variety of support programs, including a Parenting Club with information and programs just for widowed parents.

The support groups available on Facebook include Young and Widowed with Children, Widowed, Solo Parenting – You’re Not Alone, The Widowed Mom Podcast Community or Widowed Parents.

There are also local groups for widows and widowers on Meetup although they may be more social in nature.
